PERMANENT MAKE UP/ MICROBLADING
Cosmetic Tattoos & Microblading
Cosmetic tattooing or Micropigmentation is a service to enhance or reproduce features that are not pronounced or have been lost due to aging, medical conditions or scarring. Most commonly preformed on the face, including eyebrows, eyeliner and lips.
The industry has made huge leaps in recent years compared to the old traditional tattooed eyebrows and over lined lips that look harsh and unnatural and stayed that way. Now with the advancement of new techniques and reformulated pigments that deliver soft and natural results that gradually fade over time, it has become a true art form. Depending on the desired outcome there are different techniques that all take proper training, practice and dedication to master.
This is the most natural looking technique. Individual hairlike strokes are made between the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin using a hand tool and a small blade made of tiny needles. This technique is completed with two sessions. During the initial 2 hour appointment you will fill out consent and medical history paperwork and go over expectations, questions and aftercare. Next we will apply a topical numbing cream then we will map out the perfect brow shape for you using precise measurements based off of your bone structure and facial features. Once the perfect shape is agreed upon we get started. After your brows have completely healed, about 6-10 weeks you will come in for your touch up appointment. At this point we can discuss the outcome and decide if you want to go a little thicker, darker or add some shading. This technique is great for people that want to define their natural brow shape or add symmetry to uneven brows. Microblading is not for everyone, people with oily or mature skin may not have the desired retention. In that case you may want to add some shading during your touch up appointment or decide on the powder/ombre technique.
Powder/ Ombre brows
This technique works for all skin types so its a great option for people that may not be microblading candidates. It is achieved by using a rotary tattoo machine. It deposits the pigment 1mm into the skin so it a lasts a little longer than microblading but does not go as deep as a traditional tattoo so it will eventually fade. This technique also requires two sessions.

It has results similar to the finish of brow penciler powder. This style has some versatility depending on the desired result. For a more natural look you can achieve a softer, powdery effect or for a bolder more structured look you can get a little more concentrated effect.
Combination brows are a blend of microblading and shading, sometimes referred to as the blade and shade technique. The shading is done with a rotary tattoo machine or hand tool, depending on the desired final effect. This technique is great for people that like the natural microblading strokes but also like a more defined, structured look through the arch and tail of the brow.
The Lip blush service leaves you with a natural, youthful, healthy looking blush to your lips. The final result is a subtle lip stain that defines the natural shape of the lip, adds symmetry and fullness and can help camouflage scarring or irregularities in lip color. As we age our lips appear smaller due to loss of collagen and loss of pigment. Using an assortment of pinks, corals and nudes you can enhance your natural lip color and restore that juicy, youthful pout. This is a two session procedure. During the initial 2 hour appointment you will fill out consent and medical history paperwork and go over expectations, questions and aftercare. Next we will apply a topical numbing cream before we start and through out the procedure to ensure your utmost comfort. Immediately after your procedure your lips will appear much brighter and vibrant than the end result and final color. They will heal 50% lighter and result in a beautifully, natural enhancement of your natural lip color. There will also be some swelling that should subside after one to two days. Slight bruising is possible but is usually minimal to none. Your lips will take approximately 7 days to heal, but this varies from client to client. After the lips are completely healed after 6-8 weeks you will come in for your touch up. During this appointment we can discuss the outcome and decide if you want to go a little brighter or bolder. *Please note if you have a history of cold sores or oral herpes it is required to be treated before and after your procedure with an anti-viral medication with a note from your physician. This is common practice to avoid any kind of outbreak caused by trauma to the area. It is possible for this virus to lay dormant in your system without knowing you are a carrier so I recommend everyone air on the side of caution and talk to your doctor ahead of time.
Yearly touch ups and color boost
Cosmetic tattoos if done correctly should fade over time, although not everyone fades at the same pace. There are many factors that effect the retention of your tattoo, including skin type, age, skin care routine, sun exposure and lifestyle. Most clients prefer to get an annual touch up or color boost once a year to keep the pigment fresh. You should expect to get an average of 1-3 years out of your service. The best thing you can do, especially here in hawaii is protect the treated area from sun exposure. SPF 50+, big glasses and hats will extend the life of your tattoo.
PMU Saline Removal
Li-FT saline removal is a pigment lightening solution that facilitates the removal of unwanted pigment from the skin. It is formulated with the highest quality natural ingredients for safe, skin appropriate lightening to correct unwated shaping and or color from previous PMU services. This service may require multiple visits to achieve desired removal so a consultation is required.
Brow Healing and Touchup
DAY 1-3: Your brows will appear darker and slightly thicker due to the pigment oxidizing and sitting on top of the skin. You may experience redness, swelling and slight tenderness
DAY 4-6: The peeling phase begins. It is normal for the color to peel off unevenly. Dont be alarmed if large peices of color come off. At this stage make sure to keep them moisturized with *bella brows brow balm* and not scratch or pick them! I personally wore a hat day 5 and 6 while mine were in the most flaky stage 😉
DAY 6-10: The last of the scabbing should be coming off by this point. Your brows may feel very light at this stage as the new skin forming over the pigment is more opaque. During this stage it is normal to lose 20-40% of the color. Continue to moisturize with brow balm
WEEK 4-6: Now that the skin is healed the true color should start to show thru as the new skin becomes more translucent.
WEEK 6-10: You are ready for your touch up!!!! At your touch up we can darken the color or thicken them up as well as go over any spots that lightened during the healing process.
